Extremely slow print

Hi,

before starting: the printer is a Phaser 7800DN connected to a Windows 10x64 i7 64GB RAM computer, using latest PS driver 5.239.5.

Before this machine, an Epson AL C9200 connected via USB was used.

The problem is that the file that the printer must print are huge Publishers docs, some are for example 1,5GB with a lot of images and 200 pages. When printing to the old Epson using a PCL6 driver during the time windows spools the file and sends it to the printer this one starts to print after some minutes. It's not so fast but there's no delay between pages after first print comes out.

With Phaser 7800 and PS driver instead, spooling time increases drastically and after printing first 2-3 pages, it stops and after a minute or more it prints other 2-3 pages and so on...

So it takes hours to print this type of file.

Is there anything we can do to improve print speed? The main problem is the delay between pages!

WorkCentre 7835 Secure Print

We are a software company and one of our programs print out a form using PCL commands. When the user prints out this form to the 7830 it does not hold the document until they enter the secure PIN.  The end user has selected the secure print option.  Any other reports will stay in the queue until they select them and enter their PIN, but they are not using PCL commands.

The program initiates the printer and sets it to landscape as the form is to be printed landscape.  What are the PCL commands we need to send to printer for it to retain the secure print option or to initiate it?

- There is no paper jam
- All toner cartridges just replaced
- Toner waste container just replaced
- Printer under moderate use so drum life should not have expired

After upgrading, the printer no longer staples, even though the option is checked for stapling.

Wifi password with special characters not working

Hello,

I use a wifi passphrase with special characters, including $ or ! or + or ?
When trying to connect the printer to wifi the passphrase is not working (internally midinterpreted/misspelled, confused by any of the special characters) - the printer doesn't connect.

I tried all options, WPS push button, WPS password, manual entry in ASCII and even in HEX, changing through the browser GUI - no success.

Only when I remove all the specials and have the passphrase consist of just letters and numbers, it works and connects.

All other hardware in house works just fine with a special characters password, even 10 year old TVs and other things - only this printer is unable...

Pretty sure this can be easily fixed with a firmware update, right?

I like the printer other than that, would be a shame returning it only for this stupid reason.

Output is crooked

Hi there

I have a Phaser 6600 DN that is printing "crooked". The output is rotated clockwise by about 2 degrees.

After putting a transfer belt maintenance kit in, the problem went from 3 degrees to 2 degrees.

This can be reproduced on multiple computers.

As well .. the effect is slightly less pronounced on a full tray compared to a mostly empty tray.

Toner smearing from under Phaser drum cartridge

This is a lightly used 4622.  A few days ago it started depositing little smears of toner in the upper left of random pages.  Then it got a little worse.  I took out the toner cartridge and didn't find any leaking toner, nor any in the cavity it was in.  There was toner under the left side of the drum cartridge that is under the toner cartridge.  Unfortunately, I tilted the drum cartridge as I was examining the underside, and some toner fell out on the paper I was holding it over.  I cleaned the printer compartment as best I could, replaced both cartridges, and printed some blank pages.  I mostly get small streaks (like a dollop of toner then pulled down 1/2" as the page goes by) but if I print text, some of that will smear downward, mostly anywhere in the middle column of the page.  It is now the entire left half of the page that is subject to glitches.  This toner does not just wipe off of the printed page.  I am assuming the drum leaks rather than the toner cartridge. 

1) what is a drum cartridge anyway?  The drum transfers toner to the paper.  This is a cartridge because it also collects excess toner, and that is what is leaking, or failing to be collected?

2) Is there anything constructive I can do, or do I need to buy a new drum cartridge?  It is old enough that it is beyond any warranty.  The CentreWare app reports 60% life left on the drum and 76% left on the toner cartridge.  I can't remember if this is the original drum (I think it is) but the toner cartridge is relatively new in comparison.

Can I print on a CopyCentre C20?

First timer.

My wife was given a CopyCentre C20 from a friend when she started her new job.  

The copier part works fine, with no issues.  My question is can she use it as a printer too.  I see there is a parallel port on the side, and wanted to know if I purchased a USB->Parallel cable and hooked it up, if it would work.  This would not be on a network, but printing from her laptop (Windows 10).  If it is possible, a pointer to which drivers would work would be greatly appreciated. 

I don't want to purchase the cable if it is not possible to use this as a printer. 

I searched the documents, and the internet, and can't find a lot of information on this model.

"Print from USB" defaults

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to change the default settings for "Print from USB" of my WorkCentre 6515. When printing from a USB flash drive, my printer defaults to 2-sided color printing. I want to change that to 1-sided monochrome. How to achieve that? I couldn't find anything in neither the manual nor on the printer's config using the integrated webserver. Any ideas?

I am receiving this error message randomly when printing pdfs, sometimes it prints fine, other times it does not.  I receive a blank page along with this printed page error message.

Missing color

Hello, I have problem printing all colors. Black and magenta are missing. And when making copies, all colors are ok. I use this printer on win XP. Drivers can not be an issue because it worked fine on the same computer for almost a year.

Versant 3100 decurler failure & poor stacking quality

Our Versant 3100 is configured with an interface decurler module, inserter with decurler, and production ready finisher. The majority of what we print is 19x13 100# cover.

Since January, the performance of stacking and decurling have been poor and inconsistent. Service has been called and escalated. Prior to that time, I occasionally bumped the decurler one click up or down from “AUTO”, and even used the decurler on the inserter. 

I used to send multiple jobs, or even partial sets of larger jobs, then walk away to perform other duties. I have since lost my confidence in the output, and spend too much time babysitting delivery. I’ve taped and paper clipped quizzes on the trays to keep stock from falling out. There are times where I have to push the corners down on a stack to fit it under the cutter knife. 

I’m being told the decurler on the inserter “isn’t supposed to work” according to support. The buttons do not function and the LED never moves off AUTO. I could swear it did.. and when the Xerox documentation below was written, it apparently did as well.

Who can help me? Does anyone out there have a similar config where both decurler function?

error when printing

i have a xero b405 that is networked. when they set up the printer it tested okay when installed on the server, after a couple of weeks now it wont print, every time we send a print job to the copier it fails. i have installed every driver on the xerox website. the driver installs okay but again when we try to print it fails. ive checked the network cable that is fine. they also use windowns 10 computers

Xerox XML Configuration Tool Server-to-Client configuration

Hi,

this is a question regarding Xerox XML Config Tool.

A customer has PullPrint Driver installed on a print server serving about 2500 users.
For some of users we would like to set a "soft restriction" (B/W and duplex "enforced default").

Will you please advise if the following configuration is appropriate and should achieve the goal:

1) Driver installed on print server is shared for all users.
2) For those users who should have "soft restriction", in users' PCs registry, RepositoryUNCPath referring to XML containing preferred driver configuration is created. So, this configuration should affect/redefine shared driver setting for users' PCs.

This way worked properly with old version of PullPrint Driver, but it doesn't with new.

Strange color cast/burn on inner edge of sheets

Hello, I'm printing a job that is suppose to be a soild tan background but I'm getting a strange color cast all along the inner edge of the front and back of the sheet. Its hard to explain and I have provided a picture, but its kinda hard to tell in the picture. I only have this issue or its only noticable on certain colored jobs. Any ideas?? my fuser has been recently replaced so its not that and I have done a toner clean.Screen Shot 2019-07-09 at 1.05.30 PM copy.jpg

Vertical Repeating Black Lines when Printing - Xerox c70

V80-DOC_003(1).jpgAnyone have an idea why we are getting repeating black line on all print outs, all colors. I've swapped the drums out several times (color and black) with different drums and we've also wipped down the ibt belt and these lines will not fade and seem to repeat like it was on a drum but the lines never change after swapping each drum and test printing. Attached is the image of the lines and suggestions??

Double Sided Printing

I have just purchased a Xerox Phaser 6022 to use with my Macbook Pro which has MacOS Mojave version 10.14.5 and I am endlessly trying to print A4 document double sided. I have followed the instruction in the User Guide but nothing seems to work. When I go to the Layout part of the printing setup, the Two Sided selection button grey and off unable to select so I can switch on. Can anyoe point me in the right direction on how to set this up correctly please? Thanks in advance.
