Xerox Device Manager Failures
My team currently utilizes Xerox Device Manager in our environment to support 1000+ printers in a retail environment. We've had XDM for almost a year and are trying to utilize it for our first ever printer clone file update. I've set our printers into managable groups by states with 20-150 printers per state. I have saved clone files to be pushed to the devices state by state through the upgrade printer wizard in XDM.
I have had luck with some states and complete failure in others. Sometimes XDM will let the "Upgrade Printer Progress" sit in "Pending" for several hours until intervention is made to stop or delete the upgrade. I experience this problem everytime when I schedule a printer upgrade in the future and sometimes when I immediately start the upgrade. There isn't any apparent rhyme or reason for the issues, as I have gone back to states that failed to kick off at a later date and the upgrade goes through.
Another issue I have had with the upgrade process is during one upgrade, the files were sent to each printer, but the validation action of the upgrade printer process stops at one printer and will not move on to the next.
As you can assume, upgrading 1000+ printers with XDM is a challenge in it's own, and the problems I have been facing have not made it easier. Please let me know if there is anything I could be doing wrong or maybe if there is a new patch or version of XDM I can install.
The difference between JPG and PDF
Recently, we had some quality issues printing full color 11x17 posters on our XEROX WorkCentre 7665. There were several faint white lines running the full length of the page. We placed a call with service, who came out, replaced a number of consumables, and literally took apart the whole thing and cleaned out the entire machine. She then printed some tests, they looked clean, and she left. Right after she left, I sent the posters again, and yep, same faint white lines running the full length of the page. I called Xerox back and she came back. We talked for a bit, and she convinced me to produce a PDF from the JPG file, which I did. When I send the JPG we get white lines, when I send the PDF, no white lines. Yikes. This is pretty much confusing to me, as the lines are either there or they are not. I am pointing the finger here at Xerox, maybe the print driver or something. In any case, once again, we have to implement a "workaround" in order for us to print. I find this unacceptable and believe that someone should address this issue and tell me why it is this way. Anyone out there wanna take a stab at what might be causing this?
Color qube 8570 isnt using cyan color

Im having some issues with a qube 8570 that is not printing using the cyan ink.
there is no error message only the prints are all in magenta when we try to print in blue or cyan.
we are using original ink.
Can anybody help me with this?

Phaser 6000 - Exclamation Mark Blinking
Hello,
if I try to print from my Phaser 6000 Pc the orange ! starts blinking and it doesn't print.
I've already tried the following:
Restart the printer
Reinstall the printer on my PC (windows 7)
The strange thing is that after the restart the print stops blinking and, If I try to print the configuration page (by pressing for 3 sec. the central button), it works. But as soon as I try to print from a Pc, even a test page, it starts blinking again.
Any suggestion?

A user just emailed me not too long ago and said they were getting this message ----->
splwow64.exe - system error - the program can't start becasue x2utilHL.dll is missing from your computer.
Cant anyone please let me know how to fix this ?
It looks like he was trying to do a mail merge in the screenshot he sent me.
It was a Xerox 5765 he was trying to print to and got the message.

Xerox Color 550 - Coated Paper 2 Jam on the right side.

We seem to have a problem with the Xerox 550 color printer coated paper 2. We don't know if it's the paper's fault or the machine since it's the only coated paper we have.
Printing with normal paper works fine.
Everybody in the office seems to have the same problem. We always specify to the system that it's coated paper 2 and it's 8,5 x 11 lef. The printing is fine, but when the paper is almost out of the machine, it gets stuck on the right side between 2 rollers. Each time we have to open the door and remove it. It's praticly impossible to print a straight paper because of that.
The wierdest part of all at is that approx. 2% of the time, it prints fine.
Is there someything that I'm missing or it's the machine that doesnt really comprehend what paper is passing through.

Force print to trays 3610
I need to be able to specify the print tray that is used when I send a print. For example, if I send a print to tray number 1, I need it to come out of tray one, regardless of whether or not the same paper size is in tray 1, 2 and the Bypass tray. If I send one to tray 2, I need it to come out of tray 2. We use preprinted forms, and I'm not able to control what tray we are printing to with the 3610. This worked well on our old 4510, but it seems like the printer or the driver is overriding the tray selection that I send with the job. I'm using the PCL6 driver on a 32-bit Windows system. Can anyone help?
How do I set my Phaser 660 to print 1-sided by default?
My Phaser 660 prints 2-sided by default. How do I set my Phaser 660 to print 1-sided by default? I rarely print 2-sided and I keep forgetting and have to print twice :(

Workcentre 6505 not printing black anymore.

We purchased a Workcentre 6505N in March of this year. Recently the black began to fade to grey and has now stopped printing anything in black at all.
We have replaced the ink but that did not help.
The printer has printed about 4500 pages.
Any ideas?
Users Cannot Print, but can scan/copy (invalid IDs)
All users at a remote facility are suddenly unable to print to the Xerox Workcentre 5740; however they can scan and copy. Whenever a user attempts to print to the Xerox, the print goes through to the copier, the user types in his or her code, then an error notice prints out: saying that the job was deleted due to invalid accounting IDs.
All users are using Windows 7 x64 or x86 and Windows 8 x64 and are using the Xerox Networking accounting option with their copier codes saved within the printer preferences.
Yesterday, I noticed that the copier was set to the wrong time, about six hours before the current time. Although NTP was set, I had to call a user onsite to change the time at the machine to the current time (the time on the copier is now about 2 minutes behind the current time). The machine rebooted, and in hopes of fixing the invalid accounting IDs error, the issue still persists...even this morning.
And now as I'm writing this post, I find this:

ALL users were able to print to the copier as of one week ago, and now all of a sudden no one can print. If anyone can tell me how to fix this, I'd appreciate it. Thanks for your help.

Printingscout Error
I'm running the newest Xerox drivers on my Mac OS X 10.9.2 and I get a "PrintingScout Some of the driver files are missing or corrupted. Please re-install the driver and retry." message every time I print. I've tried deleting and reinstalling the driver and I've tried resetting the printing system. I've even tried manually deleting the driver from the library. Does anyone have any other ideas as to why this could be happening?
PS I'm also on the newest firmware for the printer.

Removal of print drivers from Windows 7 - part deux
Hope someone can help me. We have various WorkCentere copiers (7125/5330/7554/7556) with PCL6 drivers installed to a Windows 2003 server. Recently did our domain migration/upgrade and now I have a brand new shiny Windows 2008R2 server and all the current drivers installed there.
The problem I am having is all my Win7 client machines are keeping the printing preferences for the driver they had previously and it is causing a lot of issues. I need to completely remove those old drivers and add the new drivers back in. Unfortunately, I do not see an easy way to do this. I keep getting errors that the driver (or some related file) is in use.
I found this article, the last post works but I dont seem to be able to get the script to work. And I really don't want to do this for 100+ machines manually.

8570 Job Account Records Disappear
ColorQube8570 seems to delete job accounting records every time the IP address is changed. Can anyone tell me if they're still accessible, and if so, how can I get them transferred to the Usage Analysis Tool?

I am from Germany and an IT Consultant, I am trying to optimize our workflow in my company for various task.
Now I am confronted with a Colorworkflow for our in House PrintOffice.
I am familar with various Colormanagenment Workflows for creating custom Printer profiles
We use a Colormunki Photo for Display and Printer profiling and also the i1 Pro2 from X-Rite
now my question is: how do I turn off ALL internal Colormanagement from either the 8570 or 8870 ?
we have 6 x 8870 and four 8570 and we print ALOT of broschures and training material in full color.
Since often more handouts are added to the pile of paper from an Outside Printing source (our training material is changing every time so this is why we print inhouse)
Colormatching would be nice, pink is not always pink and sometimes even the machines have diffent color results.
I would create for each printer a designated ICC Paper Profile and include this in our workflow

Linux Cups PS error on Workcentre 7845 on multiple pages

We have a problem on two Xerox Workcentre 7845, you have lots of strange characters, if printing more than 3 pages with Linux Cups driver. First 2,5 pages are ok but the rest are all strange characters (see attachment).
Problem started since last update (i guess).
Strange thing is, that on one workcentre 7845, the problem start at pringjobs from +3 pages, on the other printer 7845, the problem start at printjobs from +5 pages...
checked already all settings between the two printers and couldn't find any difference, also already made a "clone" from the one machine to the other machine.

Sometimes the problem happens also with some word/excel files, but if you re-print a word/excel file who have strange characters on the same printer, same file, same pc, you have the file perfectly printed...

I have a old but good printer the 5400 the printer infeed keep lifting to feed paper. causing paper feed error. I think a sensor is out anyone which sensor is bad?
Xerox Phaser 8560 Not printing red
I work at a business whose main colour is red so the fact that it is having issues is not good for us. I have tested and cleaned and run all the diagnostics and I cannot seem to get the red to work all the time. It will work on half of the page but the other half it starts going green. I have printed the test sheets and the magenta blocks never come out solid. They come out in magenta then fade to purple/cyan. There are so many blocks missing a solid magenta colour that I think it would be insane to enter all of them for removal.
I cannot figure out for the life of me how to get it to print red. I will fix it (although I have no idea how) it will work for a few sheets then go back to printing half a page in red and the other half fading to green.
Has anyone experienced this issue before? I am also noticing that it is cleaning out massive chunks of ink into the tray. To the point where I feel that there is something wrong with the printer. Anyone who has this printer knows that the ink is far from cheap and the fact that the printer is discarding such huge pieces is concerning (and costly!)
