Xerox 5755 Held Required Resources

Hi,

 

The problem is that when we print pre-formated documents that contain both an envelope and letter size documents, the printer will dispay the Held Required Resources message at the printer. When you check to see what the required resources are the display shows:

 

Bypass 8x11 Envelopes White  Missing

Tray 2 no. 10 Envelope Envelopes White Yes

Bypass 8x11 Envelopes White Missing

Tray 2  no. 10 Envelope white Yes

 

Please note that the Bypass tray at the printer is configured for A5 paper size (which we never use) and is closed.

 

I am running Word 2010 with a Xerox 5755 Printer using the Xerox 5755 PCL 6 driver (latest version).In Word envelopes are set to Automaticaly Select.  Alll other paper sizes are set to Automaticaly Select

 

The printer trays are configured as follows:

Tray 1 legal.

Tray 2 envelope (No. 10 envelope)

Tray 3 and Tray  4 are high capacity dedicated 8x11 paper trays. 

Bypass tray is configured to a paper size we never use (size A5, color pink,  type punched)

 

As a work around we ask our staff to print the envelope as a separate page by using the page range option and print only  Page 1 of the document,  (which is envelope) and then after the envelope prints, they go back and print the balance of the document (i.e. Pages 2-5). This works most of the time but sometimes this work around does not work either.

 

Note: With thiis printer selected when you open Mailings in Word, envelopes default to the Bypass tray. When we change it to Autoamticaly Select we get a warning from Word that we are changing Words' default envelopey tray setting for this printer.

 

One more note, this was not an issue when we were using these documents running XP SP3 and Word 2003. The problem started after we migrated to Windows 7 and Word 2010. Also it was working fine with this configuration when we were only using the Bypass tray for envelopes. The problem started after we purchased a dedicated envelope tray for the printer.

 

Any suggestions as to how we can just hit the print button to get both an envelope and a letter at the same time  would be greatly appreciated.

WorkCentre 5765 -- need to set defaults for all users after installation

Hello!

 

I have three computers in a domain environment that print to a WorkCentre 5765.  Our organization does not put printers on AD, so it is mapped via tcp/ip port.  These computers will be used by hundreds of separate people, and I need to configure the driver to default to 1-sided printing for every new user.  So far I've only found info for configuring the driver before installation.  Is there any way to set a default for all users on a Windows 7 machine after install?  Even if I went through the steps to preconfigure the driver and reinstalled on all three machines, there is every chance that other defaults would need to be changed later, and reinstalling with a new config file every time does not seem like the best idea.  I searched this forum and the web but I haven't found anything yet that will meet my needs.  Does anyone know a way to do this?

 

The computers are Windows 7 64 bit, driver is PS.  If I have forgotten any other necessary information, please let me know.

Samba 4 and Xerox drivers

Hai, Is there a tool so i can change the default settings in the Xerox driver so it wil work on my Samba 4 print server.

All my printers EXCEPT 1 Brand aka XEROX dont work on my samba server.

For hp i needed to adapt 1 setting in the driver before installing. I want this also for the Xerox driver.

 

We have 7 Xerox printers, 7xxx series, Monday i get my service person here.

If this is not fixable, then, EXIT Xerox !

 

Make compatible drivers and not BLOAT ware.

 

Ow... and before i forgot, i will mention this on the samba wiki, so people wont buy xerox if they are working with samba servers. !

Workcentre 7556 goes offline

Hello,
The WC 7556 goes offline at least two times every day and I must set online manually. It shows an error: 03-504-00 Machine is offline and will not accept new jobs submitted over the network....  It is very annoying. How I can set to "always online"? The firmware is the last one: 061.121.223.36000.

WC5775 Says there is a paper jam, but we can't find any jammed paper

Hi there,

I have a WC5775 that is displaying a paper jam error message for areas 3 & 4.  I am unable to find any paper stuck anywhere inside the machine and am wondering if this is a faulty sensor issue?  I have attempted to reset the software on the machine multiple times and have also tried cleaning the machine.

printing from website kills print queue

We have two models of Xerox printers: Phaser 3600s and Phaser 4620s.

We are using the latest version of the global print driver PS for both models on a centralized Windows Server 2008 print server.

Any attempts to print a detail page from zillow.com will kill a print queue.  What this means is different on the two models.  As the website is directly related to the business, they need to be able to print out these listings.

 

On the 3600s, this means that the printer will go offline and will say printing but the LCD on the screen is frozen entirely and the LED stops blinking and just stays on.

 

On the 4620s, the printer will say warming up and then will appear to switch off and then start initializing like it does when you first turn it on, then it goes back to warming up only to go back into initializing again.  It just keeps going on this loop.

 

Usually, canceling the job and resetting network settings fixes it, but I would like them to actually be able to print from the website.

 

Any ideas on how to fix this issue?  Or can you reproduce it?

 

I can try to get an exact URL if you like to test with.

WC7545 Randomly grabs wrong size paper midway through jobs

Hello!

I have a WC7545 that occasionally has a problem with paper sizes used to complete copy and print jobs.  For example.... sometimes it will start an 8.5x11 copy job, produce a few normally, and midway through the job will mysteriously start pulling bigger paper from a different tray.  Help please??

Phaser 6180 Print Out Strips

We have a Phaser 6180DN, and recently it started to print out strips of yellow and meganta color on the print job (please see attached image). All cartridges are at least 50% full, and we tried to reset the fuser, but problem still persisted. Does anyone have any recommendation?

4620 - intialization and warming up continous loop

We have a bunch of 4620s that seem to have this continous loop of intializaing and warming up.  It goes from one status to the other and back again.  ie intializing, then warming up, then initializing etc.  Playing around with it - including but not limited to, resetting network, booting without network cable, and then plugging the ethernet cable back in.  We may get a couple print jobs to come out before it starts happening again.  It only happens when the network cable is plugged in.

 

We are using the latest version of the global print driver PS for it on a centralized Windows Server 2008 print server.  The printers have the latest firmware.

 

None of the printers have a hard drive, and this does not seem to be connected to what the users are printing at all.  The most recent time it happened it started initializing in the middle of a job.

 

The only sure way I've seen to clear this issue is to either give the printer a new IP address (requires remapping all users) or delete the port (requires restarting a print server for thousands of employees).  Either way, they both require a help desk ticket for central IT which takes additional time.

Occasionally, we have seen the problem go away all by itself on a printer, only to reappear a few days later.

 

Anyone have any ideas where the issue resides or its cause?

Phaser 7760 thick paper or any media except plain thin paper spotting in white areas

Hello,

 

I noticed my 7760 prints many dark spots in pure white areas giving a dirty appearance to the white areas.  I have tracked this to paper settings, most settings besides plain paper do this.  Selecting Photo quality exagerates it, but it happens with all settings.  I have printed the calibrate for paper 9 pages, but all 9 levels seem to have the same issue with the same density of spots, I have not tried changing it.

 

I have tried to attach an image of an area that was to remain white however the printer has printed there.  I really hope there is a resolution for this.

Phaser 7760 Light Streak accross yellow fill page

Hello,

 

I have noticed some problems with some colors prints on our 7760.  I printed the trouble shooting print quality pages.  The problem fits exactly with the first problems illustration.  "Light Lines or Streaks - One Color" I have cleaned the window and also replaced the imaging unit (very expensive!).  To my suprise the problem did not go away.  It is only with the Yellow.

 

I looked inside the area where the imaging unit sits and I noticed yellow ink standing almost like with a charge of static, presumably this is how the ink gets from the printer to the imaging unit.  I think a matted area that corresponds with the white stripe in the yellow fill page is causing my issue. 

 

I have attached an image of the location within the imaging units slot that I now believe is causing my problem.  It's as if whatever charges the ink to stand up there is not making it stand in the effected white stripe area.

need Phaser 440 driver please

Hi

 

Im trying to setup my old Phaser 440 at the tme i recived the printer was the top of the line, I think retail was $10,000 beautiful print also at the time ink roll 275.00 and paper 1.00 persheet, now you get get it cheap..

 

But Im looking for a driver, im using windows xp anyone know were to get one or have one?

xerox phaser 6280 won't print from remote computer

I installed the driver on the remote computer and entered the port number, IP address, Raw protocol, SNMP status enabled (I've tried disabled, too), but it doesn't print. Queue says "printing..." then "error." Then discovered printer doesn't ping. Any help will be appreciated. Thank you.

XEROX WorkCentre 7545 will only print red text

I have a XEROX WorkCentre 7545.  We have several users that print to this printer.  only two of the users are having this problem.  About once a week when they print to the printer, their print jobs will will just red text with generic errors.  When i llok at the status of the printer, I can see the document names and who printed documents.  When the two users are having this problem, there document name is is Job xxxx and the Owner shows Remote User.  If I restart their print spooler service, then they can print, and the dociment name shows up fine, and the owner shows their user name.  When they are having this problem, they are able to print to other printers without any problem.

 

I cannot pinpoint a specific time or a specific frequency that this happens.

WorkCentre 5230A Jams every few pages

Hello-

 

We have a WorkCentre 5230A that we use for priting instruction manuals.  These manuals are typically about 8 pages long (4 sheets of paper, 2-sided) and we have the finisher apply one staple to each manual.

 

We have been experiencing a VERY high jam rate lately.  We can't print more than about 6 manuals before the machine jams and provides an error.

 

We have tried pulling paper from different trays to see if that helps (does NOT help), tried re-leveling the machine (no help), and checked the condition of all the rollers we can find (they all look pretty good).

 

Here is a list of the jams we have experienced over the last week or so (see below).......

 

Hoping someone has a suggestion on how we can get this back up and running!  Thanks so much!!  -Dmdrums

Printing Garbage

I have 80 Xerox MFD's installed at a customer (Phaser 3635, WC7120, WC7220). Users print through a Windows 2008 server, majority of the desktops are 64bit.

 

Randomly a user will get a SPLWOW64.exe error and the device will just print garbage until the paper is finished. You then have to remove the driver from the registry to reslove the problem.

 

I've tried PCL5/6, PostScript (for these that supports it), Global driver and the machine specific driver, non of which makes a difference.

Xerox Phaser 6300 display not working, red light, can't reconginse what error

Problems are:
1) Printer display doesn't work. It's common problem for that models. We tried to order new display at local service, they says "we are finding it" and after month they still "searching for it". Probably display and control panels out of production? 

And I'm not sure new display will break at same manner.

2) Black color is not printing. Is it possible to use black powder instead of colored (and make that printer black-and-white only)?
3) After installing new cartringe 6300 is not printing. Display not working, indicator showing red light. 

 

When I push test print at back side of printer, the test paper is printing. So printing mechanisms are working. But documents from computer is not printing. 

 

What can be used to find error istead of display? I was looking for program like Printing Scout, but there is not such program for phaser 6300 and nothing similar to.


Is there any way to recognise what error is, using computer?

WorkCenter 7665 prints only 2 pages

I have several Xerox WC7665 Pros with the same problem. No matter what driver I use, within a week or two, they stop printing large jobs and only print 1 or 2 pages. This causes the users to have to print their jobs in 2-page batches.  Any ideas???
