When we print color pdf files to our Workcentre 7220 using the PCL6 driver, black comes out as some sort of composite black with a brownish tint. I have tried all suggestions I have found for similar problems: checking and unchecking the "let printer determine colors" and "print as image" boxes in the adobe advanced settings dialog, etc., and can not get true black no matter what.
This is a problem not only because this situation meters even a page of black-only type as a color page, but also because the brown print just isn't as readable as true black.
I just tried printing the same file to a desktop Brother HL-L8250CDN, and black comes out as true black while colors are accurate.
Has anybody else encountered this problem? Any ideas?
