Printing on custom sized paper? - Workcentre 7535

Hi, Hope I'm posting this in the right place.

I'm having a problem printing onto custom sized paper. I've loaded the paper into the bypass tray (tray5) and set the size on the printer, the paper is slightly smaller than the A3 measurement so I've had to enter custom values.

When go into the application and click print I'm shown a preview on A4 sized paper, going into the printer settings from this page allows me to change to tray 5 which should be the correct size but instead still says A4.

At this point I'm fairly sure the problem is on the printers side, the application will resize the paper correctly for smaller sizes (or even bigger sizes) but doesn't seem to be receiving the paper size info from the printer.

I've tried most of the available drivers from the Xerox website now and they all seem to have the same outcome. With some drivers there is the option for the custom size, it just isn't assigned to a tray and doesn't work. Tray 5 always says A4. I've also noticed that if I change to the custom size in this driver and then change back to one of the trays, it will always say the custom size no matter which tray I select, unfortunately it still doesn't adjust the paper size for the application.

I'm running Windows 8.1 (64bit) and trying to print from Adobe photoshop (I've tried both CS4 and CC).

I'm totally stuck on this now and any advice will be much appreciated.
