We have a ColorQube 9303 with a High Volume Finisher and Booklet Maker (but no Tri-fold Module).
I am able to create booklets and print them properly bi-folded and stapled. From my Mac, I am also able to print regular pages and bi-fold them without making a booklet layout (i.e., A4 pages print as A4 with no scaling; they are simply folded down the middle, ready to put in an envelope).
This seems to be impossible on Windows, however. I am absolutely sure that I used to be able to do this, but I can’t remember how I did it, and at least in the current driver/software version installed (which was downloaded and installed as the most recent version a couple of weeks ago), I cannot find a way to do it.
On my Mac, in the Printer properties of the Print dialog, the Finishing section is a dropdown that looks like this:
This is logical – I choose Bi-Fold and it works. On Windows machines, however, there is no Bi-Fold option in the Finishing section of the printer settings – there’s only stapling, hole-punching and booklet layout to choose from. I’ve tried just about every possible combination inside the booklet options to see if one of them might hold the key to just folding the page without actually making a booklet, but no luck. The page gets shrunk down to booklet-page size every time.
Presumably related is the fact that on the Mac, under Output Destination, apart from Automatic, Top Tray and Stacker Tray, I can also choose Booklet Maker Bin– but on Windows, the Booklet Maker Bin is greyed out and cannot be selected unless a booklet layout is chosen.
So my question, simply put: How in the world do I tell the ColorQube to only fold on a Windows machine?
