New printer bought because of advertised linux suport plus USB connection. 1 day wasted trying to connect via USB only to find deep in the manula Linux only supported via network.
Plugged in network cable from modem/router but nothing.
After mich internet reading and messing with Adin section on printer to no avail turned router off and on and found the printer was found as a network printer and apparently installed but would not print test page - Unable to locate printer message and jod left in print queue.
Powered everything down overnight.
This morning dleted printer and attempted to set up again - setup app could not find network printer./
Powered router down and up with the same result as last night. Priinter apparently installed but but would not print test page - Unable to locate printer message and jod left in print queue.
Needless to say very disappointred and unless resolved the printer must be returned for something that works with USB & Linux - like the Brother it was supposed to replace.
Note using Admin menu the printer could not discover the TICP or whatever address. Have set the router firewall to minimum level.
If anyone can help thaks.
