Workcentre 6505 will only print faded, b/w, horizontal, edge lines that smear.

I've cleaned the lenses, powered on and off. Still will not print. I only have 11,365 total impressions, and it is not telling me to replace fuser or imaging unit, but is this what I need to do? Thanks in advance for any input.
