Printing is making a right mess on the pages.

I've been using this printer for a while now with no issues at all.

On Friday the printer decided it was going to melt the ink that was just printed on the page, onto the heated drum (?) and then print it onto the next sheet.

I've changed the roller in the side thinking it could be because the drum is not lubricated enough.

Clearly this is not the solution.

I've run all the troubleshooting ideas and nothing seems to be fixing it.

Once it's been cleaned it gives me a couple of lovely pages, then a total mess again.

I was wondering if anyone had experienced this with the 8570 Color Qube and if they had any ideas on how to fix this please?

Cyan Toner not recognized in Xerox 7242

We have a Xerox 7120.  The cartridges that are in the machine are models:

006r01457, 58, 59, 60

We were told and received from Xerox that those toners are not longer compatible with the machine and we need to use:

006r01461, 62, 63, 64

Both state that they are for our machine, 7120.  

Strange thing is the toners that are in the machine work fine (almost empty), but if we replace them with either the new model or the old model, they get an error.  Same model and everything, but they get an error.  Used vs new?!

The error is just a cartridge error.  These things have a chip on them.  Can they be removed and reinstalled on another cartridge?

Very odd that the toner works only if already in the machine, nothing new works?

Xerox WorkCentre 6505N - Scan while imaging unit needs to be replaced?

I am trying to use the scan function on this unit, but I am unable to do so because the imaging unit needs to be replaced.  Issue is, we don't need to print, just scan.  So we don't want to spend $300+ on an imaging unit that we don't need.

 

Is there any way to bypass the "Replace imaging unit" message and scan to email (or network, or USB, or anything at all)?

Assertion Failed

Since updating my Xerox Phaser 3260's firmware to V3.50.20.01, the printer will randomly print an "Exception Report." According to this report, the Task Name is tNet, and the Exception Type is Assert. It prints out:

"Assertion failed:

file ÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿ"

and repeats the 'ÿ' all the way until the edge of the page. Additionally, since updating this firmware, the printer will sometimes drop of my wifi network.

Hi,

We just installed a Versalink C500.  It works great with our plain paper jobs.  We print cards with messages for some of our customers.  The cards are light cardstock that is envelope C5 size.  When I select the size on this printer, it will not let me choose any other stock besides envelope.  If I let the job run as envelope stock, it jams because of the thickness mis-match.

Is there anyway to by-pass or force the type to the light cardstock or an any type setting, like we use on our older B&W HP laserjets.  We need the color capabilities at this workstation.

Printing problems

Users at the site have been having various printing problems and called in a Xerox tech to see if the device needed servicing.

Tech produced an error report which mostly consists of error 029-717 PAXCFile URL Not Found. Report said to disable automatic detection for internet proxy settings. I found the device was set to this so I just turned off the proxy altogether. The device software is up to date so that took care of the other recommendation.

However I've searched for this PACFile URL Not Found error online and have not found a single thing. What is the PACFile URL and can it be ignored now that the proxy setting is turned off?

The report included recommended procedures of updating the software, GP 9; and perform GP 37, how to obtain log files. What are GP 9 and GP 37 and where would I find them?

Since I wasn't there to talk to the Xerox tech I couldn't find out this information directly and he/she didn't leave any additional info other than saying that what he/she found wasn't their responsibility and needed to be fixed by the customer's IT people. That sounds like either the Xerox tech didn't know what he/she should know or was just passing the buck. In the past when I've dealt with other printer support techs they were much more helpful and knowledgeable so I'm not impressed in the least with this one. That's why I'm here asking for help as I don't have any training in Xerox equipment and I thought the Xerox tech would be more helpful than he/she was.

Vertical streaks appearing on prints

Hi there,

My VersaLink C405 is producing coloured streaks on the right hand side of the page during printing.

The streaks appear every time I print something; however, they only appear on the first page of a multi-page print job (i.e. if I'm printing 5 pages, page 1 will have the streaks, pages 2-5 will be 'clean'.

I've followed all of the cleaning steps in the manual, but to no avail. I'm guessing another part of the printer is dirty, but I'm not sure what else to try cleaning. I'm really curious about the 'quirk' whereby the streaks only appear on the first page of a printout. Why wouldn't the streaks appears on EVERY printout!?

My printer is coming up with this error message. Error code 092-318  Patch Y Fail

I have removed and reinserted all the toner cartridges and imaging units, turned it on and off again.  The fault has not cleared.  

Please advise

Versant 180 Strange Mottle Issue (Techs can't figure out)

For about a month now I have been getting strange areas on lighter stocks 80# text or less, but not on cover stock. The technicians can't seems to figure it out and have replaced multiple parts and fusers. Has anyone else come across this issue? Its shows up on all colors. Could this just be a humidity issue?? We recently purchased a VersaLink C7000.

Print jobs have color disparities/do not appear as they do on PC monitors.

I have run the automatic color calibration, tried using a different printer port, and checked/unchecked the "Let printer determine colors" box in Adobe.

I read through this. Could it just be the CYMB/RGB difference? Is there a way to simulate sRGB on the C7000?

C7000 shows empty toner with new toner installed

I have a VersaLink C7000 for my little business just over 1 year. I oredered a brand new black toner to replace the old one but the machine says it's empty after the replacement. Thought it was toner's issue, so I returned the toner and get another one. Installed it several times the machine still says it's empty. I checked my record and found only 500 pages have been printed with the genuine toner came with the machine. Rest of the color toners have like at least 76%. Doesn't even seem like the first toner has been consumed all either. Any idea?

Disable the change of the paper tray, when the tray is empty

We have installed a second paper tray (550 sheets). When the normal paper tray is empty, it automatically prints with paper from the second tray. Is there a way to disable the automatic change of the paper tray. Since we have stationery with a logo in the second paper tray, we do not want to continue printing with this paper tray.

I need desperate help!

My phaser 7100 which is pretty new (few months old) is printing very weird prints. 

I am using 80lb glossy tabloid paper and printing double sided from bypass tray. 

It was working fine for a few months until this happened (see attached). I tried to contact Xerox, they sent a technician but they didnt know what the issue was and cannot fix it. They claim im using the printer at its capacity and the printer is not intended for this kind of use. I did research and found out that the printer can indeed support this type of media and printing.

 

Any help to figure out what is happening and how can we fix it is appreciate it.

 

The printer can barely do a double sided print normally and then were back to the same issue (see attached). If i print 10 blanc pages, it will clean the printer and i can print another double sided print again.

XEROX WorkCentre 6515 Pale and faded colors incl. black on all prints and copies

Hi,
we have a 6515 DN in our office. The printer is about 2 years old and the printed pages are approximately 400!
Black and color in addition. The cartridges are nearly fiull. Min 80% on black and nearly 100% on every color.
After printing some Excel charts i tried to print an invoice, but every print came totally pale and faded out of the printer.
I have reset the printer to the default configuration, shaked the drums, tested only with a copy/scan without a PC and I have also changed the paper , but no luck. 
Every color and black print is pale.

Using the inserter to insert reprinted pages into a Calendar

HI all,

Well I got a job from a aclient who hfirst had the job printed at a printer overseas. There was an error on one the pages (client fault) so I've been tasked with reprinting the page and inserting it back into the calendar. 

Here goes the Calendar specs

Cover 11x19 (most likely cut down from 12x19 or 3x19 for bleeding puposes.

Inside pages 11x17

What I'm doing now is removing the staples from each calendar, prining the correct page to be inserted on 12x18 sheets, then cuttind down to 11x17 then manually inserting them into the calendar (8000) of them, and then stapling them back.

Oh the calendar was foleded to be basically 8.5 x 11 closed (not including the cover)

so are there any suggestions how I can use my printer by printing the correct page, placing the pre-printed pages in the inserter then having the machine do the rest?

Someone please say yes, and also how :)

Horizontal & Vertical Lines on Paper

As you can see on the photo, my printer leaves these stupid marks on the paper. Anotherproblem being paper jams time to time, this paper is one of the "went through" the printer never "got printed" issue paper. So I believe I need to clean some parts of the printer but the original guide of the printer never helps out with those. Help me get clean pages printed, and then I have some other problems.

 

PS: This product single handedly made us completely hate XEROX
